GBOS worked with a Communications Equipment Company to reduce their COGs (cost of goods sold) by introducing quality offshore manufacturing together with changes to existing manufacturing procedures to allow faster and more cost effective repetition of basic processes. The company had a high technology product which required extensive engineering work at the end of a manufacturing run in order to have a product ready for sale to customers. The existing manufacturing model was unsustainable from a commercial aspect and the business had been forced to resolve to reducing their profit margins to zero or on occasions negative profit in order to retain a rapidly diminishing customer base and prevent lost sales to offshore competitors.
